Can we do a fake nikkah infront of our parents so that they wont know that we were already married so they wont get hurt because of it..

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

1. i have read your standard answer about controlling the birth of the child.. but i am still confused and want you to help me.. i have married a girl secretly without mine or herparents or anyone knowing about it because i wanted to stop commit zina and masturabation.. really it was getting so hard for me restrain from these sin.. so after that i am using diffrent ways to control the birth of child like coitus interrupt and condoms because we cant have a child until we announce our wedding to everybody which we will be like after 1 year.. is it ok as it is all because i dont to do zinna which i was constantly doing before the change in my life.

2. can we do a fake nikkah infront of our parents so that they wont know that we were already married so they wont get hurt because of it..

JazakAllah.. Allah Hafiz!

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

Nabi صلى الله عليه وسلم said: announce the nikah.

(Ahmad, Ibn Hibban, Tabrani, Ibn Nu’aym, Hakim on the authority of Ibn al-Zubayr رضي الله تعالى عنه)

الجامع الصغير للسيوطي

1197                – أعلنوا النكاح حم حب طب حل ك عن ابن الزبير

We advise you to explain to your parents your situation. You may also consider asking your local ulama or some senior members of your family or community to speak to your parents. If the conditions of nikah were fulfilled in your “secret nikah”, then making another nikah will merely be a formality as your nikah is already done.

And Allah knows best

Wassalam u Alaikum
