Is it permissable for a Muslim male to work for a intelligence agency (secret service) and carry out sabotage etc. for the sake of country and Islam?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Agents have to carry out a variety of tasks, including sabotage, assassinations, bribery, stealing and sleeping with other women. Is this permissible, so long the individual is doing these tasks for Islam and his country?

Answer

Almighty Allah Ta’ala says, ?And do not assist in sin ?? (Maaidah)

In view of the above injunction, it is not permissible for a Muslim to work for an intelligence agency of a Muslim country by carrying out acts of sin and oppression. Assassination, bribery, stealing and sleeping with strange women are major sins and invoke the wrath of Allah Ta’ala.
