Lottery is not the main business but its a part. Their main business in the store is like selling candy’s . every day use things like dairy products, water, bread, napkins, kitchen stuff etc. His opinion is that its very difficult to find grocery/retail store without this lottery machine(gambling).Its not the main business but attractiion for the customers. Is it Ok if we do istikhara for him.
Answer:
Gambling is expressly prohibited in the Qur’aan. It is not permissible to gamble or be part of gambling in any way whatsoever. That includes installing a gambling machine in one’s business.
It is not permissible to run a business in which one is required to have a lottery machine. That is assisting in sin. Allah Ta’ala states, ?And do not assist in sin.? (Maaidah)
