What is the role of an imam?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org
Answer

1. The role of the Imaam is to basically lead his community towards the right path. If you are referring to the Imaam of a Musjid appointed by the Mutawalli of the Musjid, his role would be as agreed upon between his employer, i.e. the Mutawalli, trustees, etc. and the Imaam himself.

2. What exactly is the point of your question, kindly elaborate.
