What are the punishment for doing urnatery by standing? If there is problem in sitting is it permissible to stand and do

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatoh

Allah Ta’ala says in the Holy Quran:

There is indeed a good model for you in the Messenger of Allah. [33:21]

Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم thought us every aspect of our lives including how one should relieve himself. Once somebody mockingly said to Salman Farsi رضى الله عنه that your Prophet thought you everything including how one should relieve himself? Salman رضى الله عنه replied: yes our Nabi prohibited us to face the Qibla, (prohobited) to use the right hand whilst relieving ourselves and (prohibited) to clean ourselves with less than three stones.

I tis clear from this that Islam is a complete way of life and not restricted to Salah and Saum.

Nabi صلى الله عليه و سلم prohibited from standing and urinating.

“O Umar do not urinate standing” Tirmidhi

Furthermore, standing and urinating is the common method of the non-muslims. It is prohibited to emulate non-muslims. Therefore, it is prohibited to stand and urinate. However, if there is a need for a person to stand and urinate for example, he has plaster on his leg and cannot sit such a person will be excused.

And Allah knows best
