When greeting , instead of saying “Assalamualaikum” they just say “Salam” … is this permissible? Also in sms’s and when chatting on the net, many people dont say “Assalamualaikum” but just say “salamz” adding a “z” at the end of “salam”… is this permissible?

Answer

To say Salam in place of the full Salaam is contrary to the Sunnah.
