Dear mufti Sahib, My father Stabbed my younger brother on Dec 25th 2001. He is in jail now. We don’t want him in the family back. I still love him, but I don’t want to do with him anymore in my life. Please tell me what should I do? My mother and all of don’t like the way he was and his behaviour toward us He always beated us and our mother, now he did that . Please help us to do anything wrong.
Answer:
Your father, irrespective of the heinous crime he committed, is after all,
your father. He is the source of your presence in this world.
As a father, he deserves your respect, kindness and support. Overlook his
errors and attempt to patch up with him. In fact, Islam demands cordial
relations even with our non-Muslim relatives. Visit your father as
frequently as possible. Support him in this trying time.
