salaams mufti desai, 1) i wanted to find out about faqeehul ummat (mufti mahmoodul hasan gangohi r.a) and who was his teachers? 2) how does the chain of shaykhs proceed from either hakeemul ummat r.a or shah waliyyullah r.a all the way to rasulullah s.a.w ? ie how are the ulema of hind connected to rasulullah in terms of khalifas and shaykhs? 3) is it alright to ask in which darul uloom you graduated from and if you are the khalifa of any particular ulama?
1. He had many Ustaadhs, of which the most famous are Moulana Husayn Ahmad
Madani and Moulana Muhammad Zakariyyah Kandhlawi.
2. With respect, the subject will require a voluminous book. Please excuse
us as time does not permit us to go into detail. In brief, the Ulama of Hind
have various chains that link up directly to Rasulullah (Sallallaahu Alayhi
Wasallam). For detail, refer to, Hayaat-e-Mahmood (Urdu), Al-Anaaqeed ul
Ghaliyah Minal Asaaneed il Aaliyah (Arabic). Do excuse for not going into
