Maulana Sa’d – clarification

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Salaamz Hazrat Mufti Sahib,

Many people are using the fatwa which you wrote on the issues surrounding maulana saad and what he said as a daleel to call him a kafir and also to follow him is shirk. Can you please state if this is permissible to say?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

We do not agree with the views and position held by Maulana Sa’d in the noble work of Tabligh. May Almighty Allah grant us all guidance. Aameen.

However, in our fatwa regarding Maulana Sa’d, we did not state that Maulana Sa’d is a kaafir or mushrik. It is incorrect to attribute kufr or shirk to a muslim.

One bad action from a person shouldn’t be the reason we forget all the many good that they have done to us. This is against the Sunnah of Rasulullah . Forgive & overlook the faults of people. That is a great Sunnah of Rasulullah “- @MuftiEbrahim (Twitter)
