A vow to anyone except Allah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

A few years ago I had a cosmetic procedure where an implant was put under my skin on my face. I had this done because at the time I felt very depressed about my appearance and it was affecting my life. Is cosmetic surgery of this kind haram and if so is it considered a major sin or al-kaba’ir? Also a friend of mine who knew I had undergone this procedure recently told me that my wudu was no longer accepted after doing such surgery, is this true and if so have none of my prayers over the years been accepted?

Thank you for your time, this has been causing me a lot of sleepless nights and worrying about it.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

In order for us to issue you a ruling, inform us of the details of the vow. What was the actual statement of the vow?
