What is the meaning “Meenal” ?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

What is the Meaning of a baby boy named “Meenal” in Arabic? Is it true its meaning is Flower of Jannah?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

We were unable to locate the origins of the name “Meenal” in the Arabic language.

However, according to some websites, the name “Meenal” is of Indian and Hindu origin and a girl’s name which means Precious Gem.[1]

It is not advisable to keep the name “Meenal” as it has an Indian and Hindu origin. A name has an impact on the character and conduct of the child.

We advise you to choose the names of the prophets and Sahaba e Kiraam and pious persons in Islam. A similar name to “Meenal” is “Minhal” or “Manal”.

“Minhal” is an Arabic name, means: Generous, honorable, fountains, spring of salubrious water.[2] and “Manal” is an Arabic origin, means: Gift, Achievement.[3]

You may refer to for other suitable Islamic names.
