Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Assalamu Alaikum, I immediately need an help. I know that evil eyes are true said by Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam. So is there any Surah or recital to be recited behalf of another person who is affected by it? She is far away from me so I could only supplicate for me! Please help me. She has changed her mind so as not to do her advance level which she have been craving for. She hasn’t behaved like this before. So please help me for the sake of Allah. Jazakallahu Khairan!

Answer

In the Name of Allaah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

According to our understanding of your query, the person you are concerned about is a female. She does not want to pursue her advanced studies. You interpret this attitude as her being affected by evil eye (nazr). While the effect of nazr is true and proven in the Ahaadith[i], how did you conclude that her attitude is indeed the effect of nazr? There could be various reasons for her attitude. It is possible that she is now conscious of her Islaamic values and as a female, she is aware of the immoralities in the secular environment. Discuss the issue with her before arriving at a conclusion.

Nevertheless, if you do believe that she is affected by an evil eye, then you should advise her to recite Surah Al-Falaq (113)[ii], Surah An-Naas (114)[iii] and Ayatul Kursi [2:255] after every fardh salaah.
