Can one close his eyes during prayer? I have the problem of easy attention distraction during prayer and many times I forget how many Ruka I have prayed

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I feel that closing eyes allows me more concentration since I have the problem of easy attention distraction during prayer and many times I forget how many Ruka I have prayed). If it is not prohibited I would be in great need of it

Answer

It is not desirable to close one’s eyes and offer Salaat. But if, by closing his eyes, a person is able to concentrate better, then one may semi-close his eyes.
