When a women gets a divorce, is it true she has to stay in the home for a certain amount of time?

I heard then when a women’s divorce is finallized, the she has to stay in her home for a certain amount of time. She is not allowed to step out of her house. Is this correct? If so how long does she need to stay in her home for? I heard she has to stay in her home for 3 periods of a womens cycle. What happens if the women also refuse to stay home and just move on with their lives?

Answer:

According to Shari’ah, a divorcee may remarry upon the expiry of the Iddah
(three menstrual cycles or till birth if pregnant).
