Should I continue with the proposal?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

I recently got engaged to a practicing muslim, he is from tablighi jamaat

I didn’t saw him and talk to him, he also didn’t saw me or talk to me ever.

I just accepted this proposal due to him being very religious , he is willing to provide me complete islamic environment after marriage الحمدلله

he is software engineer and works in a famous software company.  After engagement I realized that the company in which he works is famous for making financial and leasing softwares. That company is a multinational and is MAINLY providing financial and leasing software to the various clients around the world. When I checked the Pakistani website of that company,  there they mentioned some other softwares as well like software for hospital management and for land record etc.

After knowing this all I couldn’t decide what should I do, I didn’t share anything with my parents because they suffered a lot while finding for me a practicing muslim brother.

Sometimes I feel after marriage I would ask him to search another job and leave this, but then I criticize my self that I am giving priority to dunya over deen and becoming happy to eat haram for few months until he don’t leave this company.

I read dua of istikhara but day by day feeling more inclined towards this.

What should I do?

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalāmu ῾alaykum wa Rahmatullāhi Wabarakātu

The income from developing financial and leasing software is not haram. If you marry the person in reference, and he maintains you, you will not be consuming haram [1]

And Allāh Ta῾āla Knows Best
