i am running a small boutique hotel . i don’t serve alcohol or provide. the question is if the guest staying at the hotel gets his own drink & consumes it inside his room. would it be alright for me. earlier i started with not allowing anyone having it in the rooms also. but everybody says if they have it like that there’s no harm. i have mentioned on the notice & also let the guests know before booking that we don’t allow it. plz advise as its not easy to run this business in this way.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
We advise you to maintain the notice of prohibiting all forms of intoxicants in the hotel.
If a client hides the intoxicant and drinks it in the room, you will not be responsible. If a client misbehaves because of the drink, he can be held responsible for violating the rules of the hotel. [1]

الجواب: مسافر خانہ بنانا اور اس میں ٹھرنے کا کرایہ لینا درست ہے، اس کوشش کے باوجود کہ وہاں برائی نہ ہونے پاوے، پھر بھی آنے والے برائی کریں تو مسافر خانہ والوں پر اس کا گناہ نہیں ہوگا، اور کرایہ کی آمدنی کو ناجائز نہیں کہا جائیگا۔
