Should I recite Durood in first Tashahhud or only in the last?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

In the 2nd rakat of a 4 rakat salah (namaz) afte the second sajdah I sit and  only say “at-taḥiyyaatu lillaahi waṣ-ṣalaawaatu waṭ-ṭayyibaatu, as-salaamu ‛alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa raḥmatullaahi wa barakaatuh, as-salaamu ‛alaynaa wa ‛alaa ‛ibaad-illaahiṣ-ṣaaliḥeen, ash-hadu an laa ilaaha ill-allaahu wa’dahu la sharika lahu, wa ash-hadu anna muḥammad-an ‛abduhu wa rasooluh” then after it I standup for the third rakat, then in the 4th rakat after the second sajdah I sit again and recite at-taḥiyyaatu lillaahi waṣ-ṣalaawaatu waṭ-ṭayyibaatu……then after it I recite Daroode Ibrahim then I say a Dua which is “Allahumma inni aoozobika min aazabe jahannama wa min aazabil qabr wa min fitnatil mahiya wal mamte-Allahumma inni aoozobika min aazabe jahannama wa min aazabil qabr wa min fitnatil mahiya wal mamte wa min sharril maseehad-dajjal then after it I say Assalamo alaikum wa rahmatullah to right side then to left side.

But I found somthing different on http://www.howtopray.com/page/36/what-to-say-during-tashahhud

It says that even in the 2nd Tashahhud of a 4 rakat namaaz we have to recite Daroode Ibrahim as we recite in the final Tashahhud.

Please guide me.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykumwa-rahmatullāhiwa-barakātuh.

Your procedure of reciting in the first Tashahhud and the second Tashahhud is correct. Continue with that.

According to the Hanafi School of that (Mazhab), if one recites Durood-e-Ebrahim after the At -Tahiyyaat that is a violation, one will have to do Sajda-Sahw.
