According to the Hanafi Madhhab, during the week when I am at home in Abu Dhabi, am I considered as a traveller (musafir) and do I have to do my salah Qasr or my salah must be done in full?
Answer
(Fatwa: 76/62/D=1434)
It is necessary to stay for fifteen days in a place in order to become muqim. Hence in the question mentioned above (as you have to travel Dubai which is at the distance of safar Sharai hence the intention of staying fifteen days was not found) so you shall be musafir in Abu Dhabi and do qasr in salah. The watan iqamah (residence place) becomes null with Shariah journey; hence if you intend to stay for fifteen days in Abu Dhabi you will turn muqim. But if you visit Dubai which is situated at the distance of safar your residence place shall be null and you will become musafir. Hence you will have to do qasr in salah after returning Abu Dhabi. But if you intend to stay for fifteen days in Abu Dhabi you will become muqim. (Al-Dur al-Mukhtar with Shami Vol. 2, p. 605)
