I would like to know followings things?
1. How long should a mother breastfeed her baby according to Shari’ah?
2. What are the virtues of breastfeeding?

According to the Shari’ah a mother should breastfeed her baby for a maximum of two lunar years from the time of the baby’s birth. We do not have any information with regards to the virtue of the mother breastfeeding her baby at this time, however if she does this for the pleasure of Allah and also breastfeeds her child happily with all its burdens then she must gain reward in the Hereafter.
