Traveller and Salaah in Madinah

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askmufti.co.za

Q: We travel for umrah  and to Madinah very often. I wanted to know since we are musafir, how do we pray our salaah in the haram? Do we pray a separate musafir salaah and then salaah in jamah is read as a qadha of a previous salaah?

A: If you are performing Salaah alone (not following the Imam), you will read Qasr (Musaafir) Salaah. If you follow the Imam, the full Salaah will be performed behind the Imam. You cannot make intention of a previous Qadhaa for the Salaah being performed behind the Imam.
