I have always heard that during the long days of summer, it is better to delay one’s Dhuhr, and to pray Asr as soon as the time comes in. Is this opinion correct?
Walaikum assalam,
In Summer months, it is recommended for mosque congregations to be delayed a little until the heat becomes more bearable, as the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) instructed.
As for Asr, it is best to delay it towards the latter part of its permissible time (before the sun begins to set, such that it is possible to look towards it without dazzling the eyes).
