1. What is the islamic reason for men not to sleep on stomach and for women not to sleep flat. 2. I am aware of making duwa after sunnat namaz with imam is bidaah but is making duwa individually after sunnat namaz permisible? 3. Can you please provide a hadith for not taking photos.

Answer

1. Sayyiduna Abu Hurayra [Radhiallaahu anhu] reports that Rasulullah [Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam] said, that this posture (to sleep on one’s stomach) is disliked by Allah Ta’ala. (Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith5001; Sunan Tirmidhi Hadith2768). Imaams ibn Hibbaan [ra] and Haakim [ra] have classified this narration as Sahih (authentic). (Sahih ibn Hibbaan Hadith5549; Mustadrak Haakim vol.4 pg.271). according to the narration of Sayyiduna Abu Dharr and Abu Umaamah [Radhiallaahu anhuma], Rasulullah [Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam] said that this is the way the people of hell would lie down. (Sunan ibn Majah Hadith3724, 3725)

2. It is permissible to make individual du’aa after the Sunnah Salaat. However, it should not be considered as necessary or Sunnah.

3. Sayyiduna Abu Talha [Radhiallaahu anhu] reports that Rasulullah [Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam] said, ?Verily, the angels do not enter a home in which there is a dog or picture.? (Sahih Bukhari Hadith5949, 5958, 3225). Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Mas?ood [Radhiallaahu anhu] reports that Rasulullah [Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam] said, ?Those who draw / take pictures will be afflicted with the most severest of punishments on the day of Qiyaamat.? (Sahih Bukhari Hadith5950). Sayyiduna Abdullah ibn Abbaas [Radhiallaahu anhu] reports that Rasulullah [Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam] said, ?Those who draw pictures (or take photos) will be punished by Almighty Allah until they give life to those pictures, and (obviously) they will never be able to do so, i.e. the punishment will not seize.? (Sahih Bukhari Hadith2225)
