How should the interest from bank savings be used according to Islamic Law?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
I want to know that the amount of interest which we get from bank if we have the saving account, where may we utilise it? I have confirmed it from a local IMAM Sah’ab they asked to use it in the bathroom of a mousque so I have given there but later on I have read it on your website that even it is not allowed to use in the bathroom of a mousque. So, I want to know the way and place where it might be given and should I give taht already given amount again as it wa given for a mousque’s bathroom. Your answer in the light of HOLY QURAN & HADITH is highly appreciated.

It has been a disputed issue whether one can use interest money for public toilet and mosque toilet or not. Hence, when you used the interest money in constructing the bathroom of mosque after asking an Imam then it was allowable, and it is not necessary on you to give this amount again. However, you should spend interest amount in future on poor and needy ones.
