Question:

Assalamualaykum. I wanted to ask how many houses did the Prophet SAW had in Madinah? I know each of his wives had their own room but did the Prophet SAW have a private room to himself at any point or did he just share with his wives while his entries time in Madinah?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

The Prophet ﷺ had a house for each one of his wives (May Allah be please with them).1 So depending on the time period in Madina the number of houses would equal the number of his wives. So, when at one period he had nine wives he would have had nine houses. Some historical sources state that some of his houses had separate rooms (bedroom, living room etc) and some were just one large room.
