When Does Vomit Break the Fast?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by DarulIftaBirmingham

Answered by: Alimah Zakiratul Hoque

Question:

When does vomit break the fast?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Answer:

To intentionally vomit (i.e., to do something which causes you to vomit) does not break the fast unless it is a mouthful (Raddul Mukhtaar, Vol 3, Pg 393). If it is a mouthful, Qadhaa will be necessary.

إن استسقاء عامدًا إن كان ملء الفم فسد بالإجماع إن أقل فلا

Only Allah knows best.
