would it permissible to drive has a necessecity ( not a luxury) or would it be advisable to avoid driving completely and use the public transport.

Answer

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

Assalaamu `alaykum waRahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

A woman will be excused for driving due to necessity with the following conditions:

1.      There is a genuine need to drive.

2.      She adheres to the laws of Hijaab when she leaves the home.

3.      She drives without a Mahram lesser than 77kms.

If insuring a motor vehicle is a legal requirement, one will be excused.

And Allah knows best
