Hadhrat Umm Salma, the mother of the believers (رضى الله تعالى عنها) used to say: If some one is afflicted with the grief of the death of a relative or a friend he or she should get relief by remembering our calamity and grief that on the day when the holy Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وسلم) left us how much we suffered. May Almighty Allah forgive your father and raise his status and bless him lofty place in jannah and give his successors patience and relief, Amen! By reciting the holy Quran and durood and offering nafl salah, and fulfilling the need of poor and needy ones, and giving charity in mosques and madrasas, make the intention like this, O Allah give its reward to my late father, and make verbally dua too.
