Driving Cab Uber

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by ShariahBoard.org

Assalam-o-alaikum Wrwb

I have 2 questions;
1- I would like to know driving UBER  or any cab is halal, because as a driver you have to take people to Haram places (Bar, Nigh clubs etc) , by driving and taking them to those places, are we a part of Sin?

“Help you one another in Al‑Birr and At‑Taqwa (virtue, righteousness and piety); but do not help one another in sin and transgression”

[al-Maa’idah 5:2]

2-I would like to start some business like Store / gas station, I need to know is it halal to sell Cigrates and Cigars or become a partner to someone who owns that Store / gas station?

الجواب وبالله التوفيق

 It is permissible to drive taxi and Uber. By dropping such passengers off, the driver does not become an accomplice in their actions. The person engaging in haram acts is the one responsible for it not the person who is dropping them off at a location.
