In a case where I am transferring a Zakaat sum to another country, can the transfer charge be paid from the Zakaat money?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
It is not permissible to pay the transfer charges accrued on the Zakaah account with the Zakaah funds. This will deduct the Zakaat amount.
Lillah funds may be used to pay for such charges. [1]
