Is it permissible for men to shave the hair growing on the chest, stomach and thighs?

As-salamu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullahi wa-barakatuh.
It is permissible for a man to shave the hair growing on the chest. However, it is against etiquette to do so. [1]
