Question
If I do istinja in my shower with the water from my shower, will the water on the floor (and the floor itself) in my shower become najis?
Answer
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.
If one’s private parts are pure at the time of making Istinja in the shower, the Istinja will not affect the purity of the water and the floor. However, if one has any impurity on him, the water and the floor will become Najis. Therefore, it is better to perform Istinja near the drain so that the impure water flows away without dirtying.[i]
After Istinja, water should be poured over the floor to clean it. Once all the water flows away, the floor will become pure.
