Abu Musa’s Al Ash’ari (radiyallahu ‘anhu) du’a after Salah

Question

Kindly mention the reference for this narration

“The great companion, Sayyiduna Abu Musa (radiyallahu ‘anhu) would recite the following after Salah”:

اللهم اغفر لي ذنبي، ويسر لي أمري، وبارك لي في رزقي

Answer

Imam Abu Bakr ibn Abi Shaybah (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration.

“When Abu Musa [Al ‘Ash’ari] (radiyallahu ‘anhu) would complete his Salah, he would recite”:

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي ذَنْبِي، وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي، وَبَارِكْ لِي فِي رِزْقِي

Allahummagh fir li dhambi wa yassir li amri wa barik li fi rizqi

(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 3050 and 29865)

Translation

O Allah! Forgive my sins, make my affairs easy and grant me barakah in my sustenance.

Sayyiduna ‘Abu Musa Al Ash’ari (radiyallahu ‘anhu) himself has also reported a narration which states [in some narrations] that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) would recite a similar du’a after Salah. (Kitabud Du’a of Imam Tabarani, Hadith: 656). See here.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
