Question:
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah!
My father has 3 wives and my mother is the second one. My mother told me not to talk to the third or the first one because she is saying they married my dad for money.
What am I supposed to do?
Should I treat my three mothers the same or not?

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Answer:
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakaatuh,
Your biological mother has more rights over you in love, respect and servitude. The co-wives of your mother deserve the respect of Muslimahs that are older, and because they are married to your father, they have another distinction of respect. You should do your uttermost to keep ties with them and the children of your half brothers and sisters.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever would like his lifespan to be extended and his provision to be increased, let him uphold the ties of kinship.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 1961; Muslim, 2557)
