Question:

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah

Alhamdulillah, Allah Ta’ala blessed my brother with a daughter. He recently did the Aqeeqah and named the child Siddiqah Haramayn (صديقة حرمين).

I would like to know if this name has any meaning at all and if it does what does it mean?

Answer:

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Ṣiddīqah means the female who is very truthful, ḥaramayn refers to the two holy sanctuaries (Makkah and Madīnah). The name, therefore, means ‘the truthful woman of the ḥaramayn (the two ḥarams).’

ʿĀishah (may Allah be pleased with her)’s title was also the term ṣiddīqah, ʿĀishah al-Ṣiddīqah bint (daughter of) Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq.
