Question:

I wanted to know about the awrah of a transgender. Is it permitted to look at the private part of a transgender who have both vagina and pennie? Is it permitted to look at the breast at any transgender? Thanks.

Answer

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

If someone is born with male and female organs, they are referred to as a hermaphrodite (khunsaa). Before maturity, if urine comes out from the male organ or from the male organ first, then he will be regarded as a man and the laws that apply to man will also be applied to him. If urine comes out from the female organ or from the female organ first, then the hermaphrodite will be considered a female and the laws that apply to females will be applied to her.

After maturity, if the hermaphrodite shares more the appearance and characteristic of a male or female, the hermaphrodite will be considered accordingly.
