Correct Timing for Ishraq Prayer After Fajr Aazan

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I want to know that what should be the correct timing to pray ishraq prayer? How much time after fajar aazan can we perform it?

Bismillaah

A: The time of ishraaq is from after sunrise till zawaal. It is however better to perform the ishraaq within the first quarter of the day (i.e. before the halfway point from after sunrise till zawaal). E.g. If sunrise is at 5:00am and zawaal is at 12:00pm, then ishraaq will commence approximately 20 minutes after sunrise (i.e. 5:20am) till zawaal and performing the ishraaq within the first quarter of the day will be till before 8:30am.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
