Burying a Quraan that has printing mistakes

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I was gifted a Quran Shareef by my father. The Quran shareef was bought from Madinah Munawwarah. To my grief there is a printing mistake in Surah Fatiha. Instead of Ihdinas-siratal mustaqeem… It is printed as Ahdinas-siratal. I don’t know what to do with this Quran shareef. I cant read it and I can’t give it to anyone. What am I supposed to do?

Bismillaah

A: If the Qur’an has mistakes, respectfully place it in a cloth and bury it in a place where people do not walk.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
