Feeding children Haraam.

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

Allah Ta’ala says:

يـأَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ كُلُواْ مِن طَيِّبَاتِ مَا رَزَقْنَـكُمْ وَاشْكُرُواْ للَّهِ إِن كُنتُمْ إِيَّاهُ تَعْبُدُونَ 

“Oh you who believe, eat of the lawful things that We have provided you with, and be grateful to Allah Ta’ala, if it is indeed He Whom you worship”.[i] 

Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam is reported to have said:

عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الصِّدِّيقِ – رضي الله عنه – قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ – صلى الله عليه وسلم -: ” لَا يَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ جَسَدٌ غُذِّيَ بِحَرَامٍ “ 

Aboobakar Radiallahu Anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam said: A body nourished by Haraam will never enter Paradise.[ii]

A Sahaabi, Saad ibn Abi Waqqaas Radhiyallaahu anhu asked Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam to make duaa that Allah Ta’ala make him from the Mustajaabad da’wah (one whose supplications are always accepted). Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam replied: Oh Saad, make your food pure, you will become Mustajaabad da‘wah.[iii]

From the above verses of Qur’aan and Ahadeeth of Rasulullah Sallallahu Alayhi wa Sallam, we see the importance of consuming Halaal and the consequences of consuming Haraam.
