Strange dream

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Askimam.org

Asslam U Aleikum

My question is related to a dream i had a couple of days back which was weird and I cannot forget. The thing is I have had a tough life since I was a child and have been having dreams all my life but I never gave them any thought. I know that bad dreams are from shaitaan but after this dream things have gone from bad to worse in my life. Please advice me what should I do? My dream is as follows:

I saw that I was with my husband in his motor bike on a roundabout turning towards right. We had just left a realtives house. So as we were about to turn towards right I saw a girl standing on my left. She looked like she was in her teens with straight hair and an expression-less face. She was blind that I knew and her eyes were closed standing straight facing us like she was looking at us somehow. Other than the fact she had a covered her upper boddy with her arms only, like in a cross, she was completely naked. She looked like a beggar but was not asking for alms. She also had bruises on her whole body like someone had beaten her. I thought my husband was staring at her so i turned his head to the right direction and realised that she was suddenly standing next to me. I freaked out and jumped off the bike and ran. I reached the patio of house with a single yellow light and was about to climb the steps when she grabbed my shirt from behind. She grabbed two opposites sides of my shirt vertically and pinned them together thats when I woke up.

Answer

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh.

The example of a dream is like a man travelling on a highway. The traveller will come across many different types of sceneries, some lush and beautiful, whilst other may be not so eye-catching and appealing. Nonetheless, the traveller must not lose his concentration throughout his travel and he should not stop to pay a lot of attention to what is around him.

Thus, our focus should not stray towards the transitory world of dreams. We should focus on real life issues. Recounting every dream and pondering on its meanings is futile. Dreams alone cannot change a person’s life.

Make shukar that you were not trapped next to the woman in real life. You were freed from that situation upon waking up.

Life is full of challenges. Allah says,

{إِنَّ مَعَ الْعُسْرِ يُسْرًا }

[الشرح: 6]

Without doubt, there is ease after every difficulty.

If you experience any challenge in life, turn to Allah Taala and make sabr. Also give out some sadaqah as sadaqah removes difficulties and invokes the help of Allah Ta’āla.

And Allah Ta’āla Knows Best
