Ibn Qayyim (rahimahullah) on treatment for vitiligo

Is it true that Imam ibn Qayyim Al Jawziyyah has mentioned in Zadul Ma’ad, chapter of Tibbun Nabawi that ants were used in the treatment of vitiligo [A skin disease]?

Answer

Imam ibn Qayyim Al Jawziyyah (rahimahullah) has suggested certain treatments for vitiligo. Among them: Onion seeds, garlic mixed with a honey paste, black seed with vinegar, cress blended with vinegar

(Zadul Ma’ad, vol. 4 pgs. 266, 271, 274, 276, 283, 370)

I have not come across mention of ants being used as a treatment.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.

As a rule, one should always consult a qualified Herbalist in matters like these, as they would know the methods, and doses that are suited to each individual.
