Not making du’a due to being engaged in dhikr and Quran recital

Is the following Hadith Qudsi authentic?

Allah Ta’ala says:

“Whosoever does not beg of me due to being engaged in recital of the Quran and engaging in my dhikr, then I will grant him more than I grant those who ask”

Answer

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration on the authority of Sayyiduna Abu Sa’id Al Khudri (radiyallahu ‘anhu).

(Sunan Tirmidhi, Hadith: 2926)

The Hadith in question is supported by numerous similar narrations.

By virtue of these numerous supports, Hafiz Ibn Hajar (rahimahullah) has declared this Hadith as sound (hasan).

(Refer: Al La-Alil Masnu’ah, vol. 2 pg. 288)

One such support is the following:

Malik ibn Al Harith (rahimahullah), a Tabi’i reports that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“Whosoever does not beg of me due to being engaged in my dhikr, I will grant him more than I grant those who ask of me”

(Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, Hadith: 29881 with a reliable chain –mursalan-)

Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah (May Allah protect him) after citing these supports states that this Hadith should be graded as sound (hasan) just as Hafiz Ibn Hajar has stated.

(Refer: Footnotes of Musannaf Ibn Abi Shaybah, under Hadith: 29881. Also see Min Sihahil Ahadithil Qudsiyyah of Shaykh Muhammad ‘Awwamah, Hadith: 60 pg. 348 and Fathul Bari, under Hadith: 5020)

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best
