Silence and abstinence from worldly pleasures are a sign of wisdom

Is this Hadith authentic?

Rasulullah (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:

“When you see a man who abstains from the worldly pleasures and who speaks little, then stay close to him for he has been granted wisdom”

Answer

Imam Ibn Majah (rahimahullah) has recorded this Hadith. ‘Allamah ‘Iraqi (rahimahullah) has graded the chain weak.

(Sunan Ibn Majah, Hadith: 4101, Al Mughni ‘An Hamlil Asfar, Hadith: 166. Also see: Zawaid Ibn Majah, Hadith: 1378 and Ithafus Sadah Al Muttaqin, vol. 9 pg. 325)

The Hadith is suitable to quote as is the case with Hadiths of this nature.

And Allah Ta’ala Knows best.
