Can a debt cancel out good deeds?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Can your debt cancel out your good deeds?

Bismillaah

A: If you are not concerned about the debts it is possible that because of this negligence your good deeds can be transferred to your creditor.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
