How should Saleema’s property be divided among her two sons & marhooma Fatima’s children?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Darulifta-Deoband.com
We would appreciate a fatwa regarding inheritance. Saleema had three children, two sons and a daughter. Saleema’s daughter, Fatima, died before Saleema. Saleema has some property registered in her name. Saleema died after her daughter died. Saleema’s two sons are still alive. Saleema’s spouse died long before her. Her parents also died long long ago. How should the property be divided? Will marhooma Fatima’s children inherit anything from their grandmother’s property?

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

(Fatwa: 1023/816/B=06/1435)

In the above mentioned case all the property of Saleema shall be divided into two shares and each son shall get 1-1 share. Since Saleema’s daughter Fatimah died while her mother was alive, hence Fatima’s children shall get nothing in the property of their grandmother’s property.
