Husband’s Rights to Gifts Given to Wife at Nikaah

Q: When two people get married, family and friends give money gifts to bride and groom. In Pakistani tradidition called salami. Does the money given to bride belong to her or does the husband have a right over that?

A: What is given to the bride belongs to her. The husband cannot make any claim in her wealth.
