Kindly advise me if the following Hadith is authentic and if possible, the source of the hadith: Narrated by Ibn ‘Abbas: The Prophet said, “Healing is in three things: cupping, a gulp of honey or cauterization, (branding with fire) but I forbid my followers to use cauterization (branding with fire).”
2. What is the ruling regarding the use of branding as a form of treatment?
A:
1. The hadeeth is quite popular.
2. Nabi (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) has allowed it only in extreme circumstances.
And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
