Should the Imaam sit on the mimbar before delivering the Eid khutba?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: Is there any condition for the Imaam to firstly sit on the mimbar before standing up to deliver the Eid Khutbah, or can he just climb on the mimbar  deliver the khutba without first sitting down?

Bismillaah

A: He should not sit on the mimbar before commencing the Eid khutba, rather he should stand on the mimbar and commence the khutba.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
