Is it Legal to Own a Monochromatic 3D Horse Sculpture?

Answered as per Hanafi Fiqh by Muftionline.co.za

Q: I wanted to know that I have a costly 3D sculpture of a horse in my drawing room. It’s carved in a single colour. Please confirm whether it is permissible to keep it with me or not?

Bismillaah

A: Pictures and statues of all animate objects are haraam and forbidden in Islam. Grave warnings have been sounded in the Mubaarak Ahaadith for the one who has any involvement in these sins.

And Allah Ta’ala (الله تعالى) knows best.
