Punching or Striking the Face

Answered as per Shafi'i Fiqh by Seekersguidance.org

Question: When it is permissible to strike the face?

Answer:

Wa alaykum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

Dear questioner,

Thank you for your important question.

Striking or kicking the face is strictly forbidden. It would only be allowed in strictly dire situations where no other means could protect one.

If the practice is needed, it could be done on a dummy or punch bag.
