Is it permissible to remove one’s uterus due to uterine fibroids?
If an upright, expert doctor says that keeping one’s uterus which is affected with fibroids will result in the woman’s deterioration or that her disease will spread, and that there is no other cure but to remove it, then this ruling is sufficient. It is also sufficient if the patient herself or her guardian has experience with this and rule the same [that the removal of the uterus is necessary] This was mentioned by our imams in the chapter of ….
